Invisalign FAQs

How long will I have to wear Invisalign clear braces?
The average treatment time for Invisalign patients is about one year, although it will vary based on your individual straightening needs.

How often will I need to visit Dr. Drake or Dr. Voto?
You will be asked to come in about every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor the progress of your straightening efforts. Dr. Drake or Dr. Voto will give you new sets of aligners, instruct you on specific placement, and give you a schedule so you know when to replace them at home (about every two weeks).

Will people be able to tell I am wearing clear braces?
Many will not even notice, unless they come close to you. You can even remove them for certain occasions, like pictures or a hot date!

Will wearing the Invisalign aligners affect my speech?
There may be a short period of adjustment while you are getting used to the presence of your aligners. Although the aligners may affect your speech in the beginning, any changes in your speech will most likely be temporary.

How do I clean my Invisalign braces?
You will treat your aligners as normal teeth, using additional care during brushing. Regular toothpaste should keep them clean, and you should brush at least twice a day.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?
While the clear plastic aligners are not painful to attach or remove, patients may experience some tooth and gum soreness, especially after a new set is attached to teeth. Mild soreness is normal and a good indication that your teeth are gradually shifting into place.

How can I find out more about Invisalign?
